I've always been in love with the creative process. Starting with a blank canvas and experiencing the evolution of my art from a whisper of an idea to the finished product. It took me a long time to understand and accept that I have an artist's soul.
I am finally able to say and believe the words, "I am an artist", so you can guess that I love pretty much anything crafty. I'm a geek, so you can more often than not find me on my computer, but I still love to get my hands dirty.
I sculpt copper and build things out of wood. I paint and glue things. I love to sew, and I love to cook even more. Anything and everything that helps me learn and gives me almost instant gratification is on my radar. I love to write even though I don't do quite enough of it.
And I LOVE being a mom. I love seeing that wonderful and kind little personality develop, and I am humbled with the knowledge that I had a hand in shaping who she will become. What can I say? I'm a lucky lady!
Finally, I'm an ally that is learning to support and amplify the people in my life from marginalized communities. I am most especially active about advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community. My pronouns are she / her.
I work to exceed expectations, yet I mix in a kooky sense of humor to balance the overachiever inside. I want you to feel 100% happy at the end of our project, so I focus on excellent customer service as much as creative design. I’ve also been in the business long enough to know when to stand my ground and when to push boundaries.
You have found the right designer if you:
(1) can't find what you're looking for and want something completely custom
(2) are an event planner looking for graphic design support or
(3) are looking for small business development advice and planning services
There are times when either I can't create the physical item myself or I've found a supplier that does it better and less expensive. Know that I have tested and vetted any vendor that I use and have ensured that their quality and customer service standards are in line with my own.
If at any time you receive something from me that you think is not worthy of the Lisa Kay Designs name, please reach out to me so we can discuss. I'm not just in the business of making money, I'm also in the business of making my customers happy.
